Oxford Semiconductor USB controllers achieve USB-IF high-speed peripheral certification

Certification Validates Product Compliance and Interoperability

with USB-Enabled Consumer Electronics

Milpitas, Calif., March 12, 2007 – Oxford Semiconductor Inc., a leading provider of high-performance connectivity solutions, has announced that its OXU121HP and OXU200 high-speed USB controllers have been compliance certified by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF).  Compliance testing was carried out at the USB-IF Compliance Workshop in Santa Clara, California and both products have been added to the Forum’s compliant product list.

The USB-IF certification confirms that the Oxford Semiconductor products meet the full specification requirements of a high-speed USB peripheral controller and that they offer maximum interoperability with other USB-enabled products.

“Achieving this certification validates the design and engineering effort that has gone into both the OXU121HP and the OXU200.  We have taken our many years of experience in embedded connectivity and applied it to the design of high performance, single-chip controllers that offer optimized USB connectivity for a broad range of consumer electronics,” said Paul Liu, Oxford Semiconductor Product Marketing Director.  “The certification provides our customers with the highest possible degree of confidence that their products will pass the USB logo certification process.”

The OXU121HP is a combined full-speed host, high-speed peripheral and OTG controller, while the OXU200 is a high-speed, peripheral only controller.  Both devices are targeted at consumer electronics requiring high data throughput, such as smart phones, PDAs, personal navigation/GPS devices and portable media players.
