Connectivity specialist appoints consumer applications leader

Oxford Semiconductor, the UK producer of communication bridge ICs, has appointed Andy Thorne as Applications Manager.

He will focus on the development of optimised reference designs for emerging consumer product sectors, including digital cameras, MP3 players and cam corders.

Andy comes to Oxford Semiconductor from NTL and brings with him 10 years experience of consumer product design. He will based at the company's Abingdon Headquarters.

The company's FireWire connectivity chips are recognised as a defacto global industry standard for storage product design.
